FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is TextToCSV free?
Yes. Every tool is free to use with no account and no feature paywall.
Are my files or text uploaded?
No. All conversions run in your browser, so your data never leaves your device. This makes the tools safe for sensitive or work data.
How do I convert text to CSV?
Open the converter, paste your text or upload a file, confirm the column split in the preview, and download CSV. See TXT to CSV for file uploads.
How do I convert CSV back to text?
Use CSV to Text or CSV to delimited text to export plain, tab, pipe, space or fixed-width text.
Which delimiters are supported?
Comma, tab, pipe, semicolon and space are auto-detected, and you can set them manually or use a custom delimiter. Fixed-width and JSON input are also supported.
Will the CSV open correctly in Excel?
Yes. Enable UTF-8 BOM for encoding and Excel-safe numbers to keep leading zeros and long IDs. See fix CSV Excel formatting issues.
Does it support UTF-8 and non-English text?
Yes. Text is handled as UTF-8, so accents and CJK characters are preserved.
Is there a file-size limit?
No fixed limit; very large files depend on your device’s memory. See large text file to CSV and the batch converter.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes. The batch converter handles up to 50 files in one pass.
Can I output JSON or an HTML table?
Yes. Use JSON to CSV (and the reverse) and CSV to HTML table.
How is my privacy protected?
The tools never upload your data, and recent conversions are stored only on your device. See our Privacy Policy.
